What is PreSpin?

PreSpin is a discovery directory that connects investors with Scottish university spin-outs and pre-spin-out opportunities, starting with the University of Strathclyde.

It is a curated shop window, not a transaction platform. You can browse and search published opportunities, and, once approved, see the full detail of early-stage (pre-spin-out) opportunities and request a warm introduction to the university team behind them.

What you can see without an account

• The directory of opportunities on the home page.
• Full detail of incorporated spin-outs (established companies).
• A short teaser for each pre-spin-out opportunity, enough to gauge interest. The sensitive detail (team, IP, financials) is gated.

Getting access to the gated detail

1. Apply for access using the Apply for access button in the header.
2. A platform administrator reviews your application.
3. Once approved, sign in and accept the current terms of use.
4. You can then see full pre-spin-out detail and request introductions.
